Hampton Public Library

Our public library began in 1926 as the first free county library in Virginia. Today the library system includes the Main Library and three branch libraries.

Regarding COVID-19

libraries logo round 400Libraries have reopened. The new hours for the Main, Willow Oaks and Northampton Branch libraries are Monday - Thursday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday - Sunday 1 - 5 p.m. The new hours for the Phoebus Library are Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday 1 - 5 p.m., Sunday CLOSED.
