Pet-Friendly Attractions

Rules and regulations governing pets at some local attractions:

Hampton Attractions


  • Air Power Park: Pets on leashes are allowed outside, not inside.
  • Sandy Bottom Nature Park: You must keep pets on a leash. They can run free in Bark Park with paid membership.
  • Grandview Nature Preserve: No pets from May 15 to September 15.

Newport News Attractions


  • Endview Plantation: No pets allowed inside.
  • Peninsula Fine Arts Center: Only service animals allowed inside.
  • The Mariners' Museum: Only service animals allowed inside. Pets allowed outside if accompanied.
  • Virginia Living Museum: Only service animals allowed inside. Pets may be on the outdoor trail but you must call ahead.
  • Virginia War Museum: Only service animals allowed inside.

Portsmouth Attractions


  • Children's Museum: Only service animals allowed inside.
  • The Elizabeth River Ferry: Pets allowed.
  • The Olde Towne Self-Guided Walking Tour: Pets allowed.
  • The Visitor Information Kiosk at High Street Landing: Pets allowed.
  • Virginia Sports Hall of Fame Museum: Only service animals allowed inside.

Williamsburg Attractions


  • Busch Gardens: No pets allowed in the park. Kennels available. $4 a day or $2 for season ticket holders.
  • Children's Museum: Only service animals allowed inside.
  • Colonial National Historical Park: Pets allowed outside if on a leash. Not pets allowed inside buildings.
  • Colonial Williamsburg: No pets allowed in hotels or buildings. Pets allowed outside if on a leash. Local kennels available five minutes away.
  • Virginia Jamestown / Yorktown Victory Center: No animals allowed.
