Assists with the services of the handicapped in the various functions of everyday life, including advising on programs, activities and legislative matters.

Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to help those with disabilities in our community? The Hampton Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities wants to honor them at their annual luncheon.

 Categories of awards include:

  • Outstanding employer who has enhanced the work environment
  • Outstanding disabled employee
  • Helping Hands award for an agency, organization or individual 
  • Youth award, for a young person who volunteers to serve people with disabilities

Nominations must be received by Oct. 4 are can be downloaded here.

The luncheon is open to anyone interested in supporting those with disabilities. It will be held Oct. 24 at noon at the Queen Street Baptist Church Worship Center, 98 N. Armistead Avenue. Reservations must be received by Oct. 4. Forms are available here.
