Membership at the center, 100 Stilwell Road, is $15 a year for youth and teens (under 18) and $20 a year for adults and seniors. Membership is open to the community and members can take part in open recreation activities, which includes use of the game room and gym. Some events at the center, which is run by Hampton’s Parks and Recreation Department, will also be free with membership.

Fort Monroe Community Center Pool

Daily passes for the pool are $1.50 for adults, $1 for seniors and $1 for youths and teens.

The pool, gym and multipurpose room can be rented for parties, class reunions, showers and other gatherings. Pool rental is $50 an hour for up to 40 swimmers.

Center Features 

In addition to the gymnasium, fitness room, swimming pool, and multipurpose room, the center includes: 

  • Locker rooms with shower areas and lockers for men and women.
  • A full-service ceramics studio that will have fees for selected pieces and tools.
  • A computer room available for public use.
  • A library featuring popular adult and children selections. 
  • Kayak and Paddle Boat Rentals (Independence Day through Labor Day).
  • Elliptigo outdoor bikes for rent.

Kayak & Pedal Boat Rentals 

Kayaks and Pedal Boats are available to rent from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from Independence Day through Labor Day. Boats can be rented hourly or for the full day of operation. The last rental will be no later than 4:30 p.m. Only those 18 years or older may sign for equipment. In partnership with Youth Sailing Virginia Inc., qualified staff will be available for on-site safety and training services and to assist with launching and retrieving.

Facility Use

Community and private groups may use Hampton Parks and Recreation Department facilities when they are not scheduled for use by any Department of the City of Hampton. To ensure the availability of rooms, any user requesting more than a single reservation may be granted a facility use permit for no more than 15 consecutive uses.
