Training
Training provides and coordinates staff development for all departmental personnel. Our goal is to provide job specific training that will improve job performance that meets and/or exceeds all standards and requirements set forth by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS ).
The Hampton Sheriff's Office is a member of the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy (HRCJTA ). The Academy is a full service training facility that provides state mandated entry-level, in-service, and specialize training to criminal justice professionals in Southeastern Virginia. Each new deputy in the Hampton Sheriff's Office is required to complete the academy during his or her first year.
