HOME Investment Partnership Program

The HOME Program, created by the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, provides funds to state and local governments to support affordable housing initiatives.  The intent of the HOME Program is to provide funds for the development and rehabilitation of affordable rental and ownership housing to low and moderate-income households, expand the capacity of nonprofit housing providers, strengthen the ability of state and local governments to provide housing and leverage private sector participation.

Activities funded under the HOME program must also be consistent with the priorities and strategies outlined in the City of Hampton’s Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development. In addition, the HOME program regulations are very specific regarding the types of projects that can be undertaken with these funds as well as the record-keeping requirements.

Applications will be made available annually in January.
