City Manager's Message Sept. 11: 9-11 Remembrance, New Fire Station & Helping Our Fellow Employee

Today is a somber day as we reflect on the tragic events of 9-11-2001. The loss of lives and destruction of our national sense of security was unimaginable before that fateful day, and I would be remiss not to acknowledge those who lost their lives as well as those who rushed into harm’s way to save those who could be saved. We will never forget the sacrifices of that day, and we will do our best to honor the memory of those who lost their lives and the brave men and women who took care of us in those darkest hours.

It is hard to believe the summer is nearly over and that many of our children are back to school today (or already, in the case of our collegiate family members)! One of my favorite traditions is that sharing of first day of school pictures.

City Manager's Message June 26: July 3rd & Peninsula Pilots Tickets

I cannot believe that July is almost here! Next week brings the July 4th holiday. This year it falls on a Tuesday. As an extra way of saying “thank you” to our amazing workforce, the Council and I are pleased to offer Monday, July 3rd as a bonus administrative day off for employees. Those employees who must work will get 8 hours off on another day during the new fiscal year. We hope you enjoy this well-deserved break!
