City Manager's Message Nov. 22: Thanksgiving

Posted on November 22, 2023 at 1:23 PM by Don Mann

I cannot believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving; it seems as if the year has flown by! Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to be with family and friends, and most importantly, to reflect on the many things for which we are grateful.

One of the many things for which I am thankful for is the opportunity to work with so many talented employees who care deeply about making our community an even better place to live, work, play and learn. Each of you makes a difference in our City, and together, we do great things. Some times these things are noticed, other times they are not; but, I know — without a doubt — that we make a positive impact on our community and its residents, businesses and visitors. I consider it a true honor and privilege to work with each of you, whether I see you daily or rarely. Thank you for choosing Hampton and for bringing your best to our City each and every day!

To those of you who must work tomorrow, thank you for the sacrifice you and your families make to keep our City safe while the rest of us celebrate. You are our heroes, and I know I speak not just for myself, but also for so many others, when I say that your sacrifice does not go unnoticed. Hopefully you will still get your share of turkey and all the sides, but please know that there is much appreciation coming your way!

However you choose to spend your Thanksgiving, I hope it is a happy one for all you! Take care, and enjoy!

— Mary
