[ARCHIVED] Hampton offices and facilities to open at 10 a.m. Friday

Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 - Hampton city offices and facilities will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m. on Friday. Liberal leave will be offered to employees.
Public Works has cleared 98% of the roads they plow. (You can view that map at http://www.hampton.gov/DocumentCenter/View/4051.)
However, temperatures overnight are forecast to drop to the 20s, so refreezing is likely. Crews will be pretreating the roads with brine Thursday night to help minimize re-freezing, but drivers should use extra caution.
Friday's temperatures should be above freezing by mid-morning, but will drop again overnight.
Solid Waste collection has resumed. Crews are using regular trash and recycling trucks where possible. They are also using manual crews and the large knuckle-boom trucks to assist with collection.
The National Weather Service in Wakefield has reported Hampton’s total snowfall as between 5 and 8 inches, in various parts of the city.
