[ARCHIVED] Willow Oaks is Neighborhood of the Year

March 26, 2015 - Willow Oaks Recreational Association recently received the Neighborhood of the Year Award from Hampton’s Neighborhood Commission for the group’s inclusiveness, communication, support and continuous improvements in Willow Oaks.

The Riverdale Regional Civic Association received the Michael J. Canty award for the Fall Festival Event, which brought several hundred people together to create a sense of community and partnership in Riverdale.

And Anthony Moser received the Mary B. Johnson Award for Leadership for his outstanding commitment to the community. The Neighborhood Commission said Moser exemplified the characteristics of great leadership and has made a significant impact as president of the Pasture Point Neighborhood Association.

The Neighborhood Commission provides leadership, policy guidance, support and a voice for Hampton’s diverse communities. It focuses on maintaining and enhancing neighborhood quality and making sure neighborhoods, schools and the city have a strong partnership.
