[ARCHIVED] Volunteer Opportunities to Help Celebrate Thanksgiving

We Hamptonians have much to be thankful for in our beautiful city, and giving our time and talent seems like a good way of saying thanks to our community. Here are three volunteer opportunities that will help you say “thank you” to Hampton:

• November 20, 3pm: Community Cleanup, Franktown Road. Volunteers will clean up Franktown Road between Andrews Boulevard and Sesco Drive.

• November 21, 9am – 2pm: Fall Festival Display and Litter-Free Event Activities, Bluebird Gap Farm, 60 Pine Chapel. Volunteers will help staff a display and/or help keep Bluebird Gap Farm clean during the Fall Festival.

• November 25, 10am – 3pm: Community Garden Preparation, Little England Cultural Center, 3922 Kecoughtan Rd. Volunteers will help build another community garden in Hampton! Jobs to be accomplished include building the shed, putting up signs, assembling the handicapped accessible beds and assisting with marking garden plots.

You must sign up in advance for all three events to assure adequate equipment and good communication. Contact hccc@hampton.gov or 727-1130 to register.
