[ARCHIVED] Faneuil adding up to 200 jobs in Hampton

Nov. 19, 2015 - Faneuil Inc., a provider of customer care to government and commercial organizations nationwide, has been retained by Washington Gas to provide customer service, billing, and credit and collections support. The agreement will add nearly 200 new jobs to Faneuil’s operations in Hampton.

In a news release from Washington Gas, Faneuil President Anna Van Buren said “we are honored to have been selected by Washington Gas to provide customer care and supporting services for its more than one million customers in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.”

Last year, Faneuil opened a contact center in Hampton – a capital investment of more than $2 million that also added approximately 250 jobs – at the Claiborne Building in Peninsula Town Center. Van Buren said at the time that “the diversity and wealth of talent represented in the greater Peninsula area were the deciding factors in our selection of Hampton as the location for this new facility.” Earlier this year, the company announced plans for a second expansion in Hampton, adding as many as 170 new jobs.
