[ARCHIVED] Come talk about city's bike, pedestrian plans

Feb. 17, 2016 - What’s the best way to connect Hampton when it comes to biking and walking? That’s one of the questions that will be discussed on Feb. 23 when the Community Development Department, working with consultants Rhodeside & Harwell, holds a public information and input meeting on the city’s first bicycle and pedestrian plan.

Funded by a grant from Virginia’s Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment, the plan will focus on the seven urban development areas – Buckroe, Coliseum Central, Downtown, Fort Monroe, Kecoughtan, North King Street and Phoebus - and how to make it easier to bike and walk in and between those areas.

The meeting is free and open to the public. It will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 6-8 p.m. at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m. Go online to learn more about the plan at www.hampton.gov/bikewalk, and to take an online survey.
