[ARCHIVED] Hampton offering grants to help groups start new events showcasing the city

Love Your City ... Hampton

July 15, 2016 – The city wants to help fund new one-day events that build community and attract visitors by enhancing the quality of life and encouraging people to “Choose Hampton.”

Hampton is building on a model popularly called “Love Your City,” which offers a boost to non-profit organizations in the community that have creative ideas for quality public gatherings. To help events get established, the city’s grant offers seed money of up to $10,000 (or $5,000 a year for two years). Organizations must have matching funds or in-kind contributions of at least 25% of the value of the grant.
