[ARCHIVED] Call 811 before you start digging to make sure you don't hit any underground utility lines

Aug. 10, 2016 - Aug. 11 is 811 Day, devoted to the promotion of safe digging by homeowners and contractors nationwide and across Virginia. The goal is to remind them to call 811 before any digging project - no matter how large or how small - to make sure that underground utility lines are marked by professional locators. The free service is considered essential to protecting the underground infrastructure.
