Aug. 15, 2016 - Applications for city boards and commission that advise City Council and city staff are available online, and residents interested in upcoming vacancies should apply by the end of August.
At its meeting this month, City Council announced a goal of expanding the number of people who are involved in advising the city. Two measures they discussed were: limiting the number of boards that someone can serve on simultaneously, and limiting most people to one term.
These board slots are scheduled to be filled Sept. 14, so interested residents should get their applications in: Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Purchasing and Procurement Oversight Committee, Hampton Economic Development Authority, Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Hampton Parking Authority, Board of Review of Real Estate Assessment, Peninsula Stadium Authority, and the Wetlands Board.
