[ARCHIVED] All Hampton employees invited to enjoy Bluebird Gap festival as a show of city's appreciation

festival

Oct. 6, 2016 - Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services presents the “Bluebird Gap Farm Festival,” October 21, 22 & 23, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily. As part of the city's Customer Service Week - and to show our employee appreciation - the city manager is also offering a special "City Employee Preview Event and Outdoor Picnic" to be held at the Farm on Thursday, Oct. 20 from noon-2 p.m. All city employees are invited to attend!

All festival features will be active during this time, so everyone can take part in Pumpkin Bowling and Pumpkin Mini-Golf for prizes, huge straw mazes, live entertainment, hayrides, storytelling, apple butter-making, Bobbing in Apple Trees, foggy kayak rides, “Punkin’ Chunkin’,” a pumpkin patch ($), and much more!

Food will be FREE for all employees!

Free parking is available in the Bass Pro parking lot across from the Farm entrance, and continuous “fun bus” shuttles are available into the park. Each ride will take approximately 5-10 minutes. Handicapped parking is available in the lot adjacent to Bluebird Gap Farm, within the park. Please follow signs.

Employees must show city ID badge at the gate for admission and a meal ticket; all activities and food are free, with the exception of the Pumpkin Patch (Pumpkins are $3 for small and $5 for large. Proceeds benefit “Friends of the Farm”). This special October 20th "preview" event and picnic is not open to the general public. Please obtain approval from your supervisor before attending if you are scheduled to work during this time. RSVP to your department’s designated point of contact by noon on Friday, Oct. 14th.

The Employee Appreciation Lunch is a city-sponsored event and will not require the use of leave to participate. Employees should make arrangements with their supervisor to minimize disruption of city services and use their regularly scheduled lunch period to attend. Any additional time in excess of the lunch period shall be considered hours worked.

Thanks for all you do and hope to see you all there!!
