[ARCHIVED] Public meeting planned to provide information about pollutants in Back, Poquoson rivers

Oct. 10, 2016 - Virginia's Department of Environmental Quality will hold a public meeting Wednesday, Nov. 2, to provide information and get public comment on "total maximum daily loads" for the Poquoson and Back rivers in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and York County.

The state's water control law requires Environmental Quality to develop "maximum daily loads" for pollutants in waterways that have been identified as impaired "due to violations of the state's water quality standards."

The public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 2 in the Sandy Bottom Nature Park conference room, 1255 Big Bethel Road, Hampton.
