Oct. 14, 2016 - Hampton’s Bluebird Gap Farm has been named one of the best petting zoos in the country by AmericanTowns Media, a technology and media content company in Westport, Conn.

AmericanTowns noted that at Bluebird Gap Farm - ranked 10 out of 11 listed - “donations and local elbow grease help keep the …. Farm a family-friendly green space.”

Others on the list included The Smithsonian National Zoological Park Kids’ Zoo in Washington, D.C. (no. 11); the Denver Zoo in Colorado (no. 2) and the Brookfield Zoo - Hamil Family Wild Encounters, in Brookfield, Ill. (no. 5). You can find the complete list online at www.BestPettingZoos.com.

Located on 60 acres in the heart of Hampton, Bluebird Gap Farm has around 150 domestic and wild animals, including horses, cows, whitetail deer, llamas, peacocks, rabbits and waterfowl. It features a covered pavilion with 18 picnic tables and a large charcoal grill. Other picnic tables and grills are located throughout the farm.

Snack and drink vending machines are located in the antique barn. And animal feed machines can be found throughout the farm for those wanting a more 'interactive' experience (don’t forget your quarters!). Admission is free.
