Jan. 3, 2017 - Hampton’s East Bay at Buckroe Beach will get national exposure as a great location for coastal living on HGTV’s “My Lottery Dream Home” this week.

The show features host David Bromstad showing homes to recent lottery winners, who can now afford the home of their dreams.

According to cable program guides, the episode scheduled for 9 p.m. Friday is called “Dreaming on the Chesapeake Bay.” It features a retired couple who is looking for a vacation home to be closer to family along the Virginia Coast. One of the homes they consider is in East Bay at Buckroe Beach, built by Tidewater Cottage Homes.

"It's exciting to have a home in Buckroe Beach with its rich history to be featured on HGTV," said Cindy Woolwine, a Realtor with BHHS Towne Realty who has sold homes throughout the area.

Tidewater Cottage, headed by John Bowman, has been building residential homes since 2011, with a focus on Buckroe Beach single-family and twin homes in the $300,000-$450,000 range. They are also now building in Olde Hampton, with homes in the $200,000-$250,000 range. The parent company, The Bowman Group, has been in commercial construction since 1985.

David DiSpirito, of Homesite Inc., designed the home. Although he has seen his work featured in magazines and newspapers before, this will be different. “Just to see my work on TV — it will be a new experience,” he said.
