Feb. 2, 2017 - Plan now to attend the upcoming "Urgency of Now" forum. The City of Hampton and Cities United - a national movement devoted to eliminating violence related to black men and boys - are sponsoring the two-day event Feb. 15 and 16 at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. It's designed to address youth violence and improve black male achievement.

Free and open to the public, the first day of "Urgency of Now, Disrupting the Culture of Violence" takes place Wednesday, Feb. 15. On Thursday, Feb. 16, various officials and guests attend an invitation-only meeting where they will engage in peer-to-peer learning and more. For more information, or if you run a youth program and want to exhibit materials or recruit volunteers on Wednesday, read the full news release here, or visit www.hampton.gov/youthviolence. The deadline for applications is Feb. 13.
