[ARCHIVED] High school students in Hampton can apply now for the 10-week summer program

Feb. 134, 2017 - High school students in Hampton looking for a job this summer have until March 8, 2017, to apply online for the city's 10-week Summer Youth Employment Program. Organized by the city's Youth Violence Prevention Office, the program introduces high school students to careers in local government. All applicants must be 16 on or before June 1, 2017.

Interviews will begin at each high school campus shortly after the application period ends. Employment offers will be made the week of March 27. Parent and student orientation will be held April 11 and April 20. Students and their families only need to attend one session, where they will receive program information, screening forms and other information. Financial institutions will be onsite to assist families.
