March 1, 2017 - The National Weather Service said there is an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms this evening as a strong cold front approaches Hampton Roads. The storms will quickly spread east and impact eastern Virginia, Lower Maryland and northeast North Carolina between 8 p.m. and midnight. The primary threat will be wind gusts, although large hail and an isolated tornado can't be ruled out, the Weather Service said. Hampton's Emergency Management office will continue to monitor the situation. Residents are encouraged to stay tuned to local media or NOAA Weather Radio.
