[ARCHIVED] Golfers turn out for Economic Development's Business Appreciation Week tournament

May 24, 2017 - Some 60 golfers came out recently to take part in the Business Appreciation Week golf tournament sponsored by Hampton’s Economic Development Authority. The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank was chosen to receive $415 in proceeds from "mulligans" purchased by tournament golfers at The Hampton’s Golf Course. The money will help the Foodbank provide more than 1,600 meals to area residents. Also, Councilwoman Teresa Schmidt read a Business Appreciation Week proclamation that was presented to Old Point National Bank and Chief Executive Officer Rob Shuford Jr.
