July 13, 2017 - Public Works says Newport News Waterworks is in the final stages of replacing and upgrading the water line and services on Beach Road from Silver Isles Boulevard to the water tower at Dandy Point Road, and all of the work on the road should be finished by mid-August.

Waterworks has already started repaving the northbound (east side) lanes of Beach Road, and plans to have work completed by the end of July. Once the paving and stripping of that section of road is finished, Waterworks will be finished with its part of the project. The city's streets and bridges division is set to repave the remainder of that side of Beach Road  by July 31, 2018.

HRSD (the Hampton Roads Sanitation District) also has an ongoing project to replace a sanity sewer line on the west side of Beach Road (southbound lanes) that should be completed by Friday, July 14. That area should be repaved by mid-August.
