[ARCHIVED] Settlers Landing Road, bridge closing Saturday noon-6 p.m.

Aug. 4, 2017 -- Settlers Landing Road will close from Tyler Street at the Hampton University Campus to downtown at King Street from noon to 6 p.m. for the downtown Adult Soap Box Derby on Saturday, Aug. 5. Racers will be using the Booker T. Washington Bridge as their course.

Parking will be restricted downtown along Settlers Landing Road during the same hours. 

Alternate routes between the downtown area and Phoebus or HU include Pembroke Avenue to Woodland Road or Interstate 64 at LaSalle Avenue to Woodland or the VA-Phoebus exit. 

Police will be on hand to facilitate access to and from the Crowne Plaza Hotel and parking garage, as well as Rudd Lane/King Street, when possible.
