Aug. 28, 2017 - The National Weather Service said a low pressure system moving up the East Coast could bring wind gusts up to 50 mph, heavy rain and moderate coastal flooding to the area starting Tuesday. High surf and dangerous rip currents are expected to persist throughout the day Tuesday, with small stream flooding possible. Hampton's Emergency Management Office will continue to monitor conditions and reminds residents to become familiar with storm safety, and new hurricane evacuation zones, by visiting the state's emergency management website. Residents are also reminded to avoid driving  on flooded roadways. Stay tuned to local news media and www.hampton.gov for the latest news and weather tips.
