[ARCHIVED] More than 200 volunteers expected to take part in home repair 'blitz' Saturday

Home Repair Blitz

Oct. 2, 2017 - More than 200 volunteers and nearly 30 homeowners are expected to take part in the Hampton Home Repair Blitz Saturday, Oct. 7  in the old Hampton neighborhood. The Blitz is a chance for the elderly, disabled, veterans and low-income residents to get help making repairs to their homes. The  Blitz takes place twice a year and is sponsored by the city, Habitat for Humanity and the Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority, with support from various community groups and organizations, including the United Way. All labor & materials are provided by community sponsors and volunteers free or at minimal cost to eligible homeowners.
