Oct. 17, 2017 - City employees are reminded to RSVP for the free Employee Appreciation Lunch on Friday, Oct. 27, from noon- 2 p.m. at Bluebird Gap Farm. You can get a preview of Saturday's Fall Festival at the Farm and sample some festival activities. The lunch menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, sides and drinks. The lunch is for city staff only and will not require the use of leave to participate. Employees should make arrangements with their supervisors to make sure city services are not disrupted. RSVP by calling 727-8311 or emailing 311@hampton.gov by noon on Friday, Oct. 20.

While the lunch is not technically part of Customer Service Week — which was Oct. 2-6 — " it is as a way I and my staff can thank you for the excellent work you do every day for our customers," said City Manager Mary Bunting.

Come join the fun, including hay rides, "Punkin’ Chunkin’," a pumpkin patch and more. Free parking is available in the Bass Pro parking lot across from the Bluebird Gap Farm entrance, and continuous shuttles are available into the park. Handicapped parking is available in the lot adjacent to Bluebird Gap Farm within the Park. Please follow signs. Bluebird Gap Farm is located at 60 Pine Chapel Road in Hampton.

Employees should make arrangements with their supervisor to minimize disruption of city services and use their regularly scheduled lunch period to attend. Any additional time in excess of the lunch period will be considered hours worked.
