[ARCHIVED] Police, sheriff, sponsor drug 'take back' day Saturday at Sentara, Carmel Center

Oct. 24, 2017 - Hampton police and the Sheriff's Office will take part in a nationwide drug "take back" day Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Sentara Careplex Hospital, 3000 Coliseum Drive (police) and the Carmel Center, 136 Kings Way (sheriff). Residents can drop off unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs at the entrance to the hospital emergency room or in the parking lot at the Carmel Center. According to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, the take back  program is designed to provide a safe and convenient way for people to get rid of prescription drugs, and to educate the public about the potential for abuse.
