[ARCHIVED] Information Technology warns employees about dangerous new ransomware called 'Bad Rabbit'

Oct. 26, 2017 - The Information Technology Department wants to warn employees about a dangerous new ransomware called "Bad Rabbit." IT is taking steps to increase security and threat awareness and asks that city computer users be on the alert for phishing emails or any unexpected email.

Notify IT immediately at ithelp@hampton.gov if you have any concerns about the security of your computer. Ransomware is malicious software that infects a computer and restricts access to the computer until a ransom is paid to unlock it.
