Dec. 29, 2017 - Starting Wednesday, Jan. 10, the Virginia Department of Transportation will begin tolling motorists on the 64 Express Lanes during normal operating hours (5-9 a.m. westbound and 2-6 p.m. eastbound Monday through Friday). During that time, motorists will need an EZ Pass or E-ZPass Flex for the 8.4 mile stretch of reversible roadway between I-264 and I-564. Outside of operating hours, the lanes will remain free and open to all motorists. VDOT said the express lanes are designed to give drivers more choices and increase the efficiency of that travel corridor.
