Jan. 8, 2018 — Sign up now for the Red Cross Blood Drive to be held 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at City Hall, 22 Lincoln St.

The blood drive is free and open to the public. Schedule an appointment at www.redcrossblood.org and enter the sponsor code HamptonCity in the “Find a Blood Drive” box. If you have never signed in as a donor before, you can create an account by clicking Account Login at the top of the page. Walk-ins are always welcome.

Blood donations are urgently needed, according to the Red Cross. Severe winter weather and seasonal illnesses have contributed to about 28,000 fewer donations than needed in November and December.

After you make an appointment, you can speed up your donation time by going to redcrossblood.org/RapidPass and filling out forms ahead of time.

Or download the free Red Cross Blood Donor app and access your donor card, track donations, get rewards and more. You can even create a team and stir up friendly competition. Download the app by texting BLOODAPP to 90999* or search Red Cross Blood in the App Store or on the Google Play store.

For more information, go online to www.redcrossblood.org for more information or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
