[ARCHIVED] City Council honored longstanding Hampton businesses

Jan. 29, 2018 - City Council recently honored eight longstanding Hampton businesses who celebrated milestone anniversaries in 2017. The businesses total 455 years of continued success in Hampton. The awards were part of the Council Spotlight Awards that recognize people, organizations, and businesses in Hampton working to keep the city successful. 

Many of the establishments have celebrated more than 20 years of business and continue to evolved and make Hampton unique. A wide-range of businesses were honored and included places like Phoebus Auction Gallery that offers a variety of antiques, decorative arts and and Science Systems and Applications, Inc. that works closely with NASA and uses state-of-art computational techniques to create predictive weather models. 

The recognized establishments are as follow: Phoebus Auction Galley (25 years), The Virginia Store (25), The Grey Goose (35), Science Systems and Applications (40), Robert Brown & Associates (40), Hampton Stationery (85), Hop’s Place (95), and Morgan-Marrow (110).
