[ARCHIVED] Litter-Free Event Volunteers Needed for Bay Days!

People to People Bay Days Litter-Free Event Volunteers 2012

Bay Days, a 31-year Hampton tradition, results in a huge number of people gathering for fun and education, and when a lot of people gather, unfortunately they litter a lot. We need your help to get the litter up off the ground as fast as it lands there to keep it from triggering more littering behavior. Volunteers who help with this part of the festival can also pass out litter-free event bags to participants when it looks like they need one. If the volunteers see someone using the trash cans or recycling containers, they can speak up and say “Thank you!” All of this will help reduce the amount of garbage that hits the ground. If you would like to help out, go to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4DABA923ABFE3-baydays and sign up now! Your help is very much needed to Keep Bay Days Litter-Free.

HCCC is also setting up a display – if you want to be part of the educational team, reply to hccc@hampton.gov.

For more information, contact hccc@hampton.gov or 727-1199.
