[ARCHIVED] Wear a jersey for Show Your Team Spirit Day

eagles vs patriots 2018

Jan. 30, 2018 — The time to dress up in your favorite team's jersey at work is Friday, Feb. 2, for Show Your Team Spirit Day, Hampton City Manager Mary Bunting said.

In an email, Bunting encouraged employees to display their favorite team, in any sport they choose:

"The 52nd Super Bowl is right around the corner and so is our annual Show Your Team Spirit Day. Special thanks to the Patriots fan who gave me a gentle reminder:)!

"While we cannot always dress down or be casual, I am a firm believer that work should be both productive and fun! The Super Bowl is a great time to show our team spirit by wearing our favorite sports team's jersey. ...

"Don't feel like you have to wear only Patriots or Eagles attire — I know we have a lot of Cowboys and Redskins fans out there! Actually, you don’t even have to wear a football jersey, shirt or hat — feel free to wear apparel for any baseball, hockey, lacrosse, swim team or whatever other sport you love (professional, amateur, or even little league).  I will be wearing a Kecoughtan Warriors shirt in honor of my sons' sports team. Let's just join together and show our team spirit — and while we are at it, let’s take a moment to maybe learn something new about a coworker — like who they cheer for, their favorite sport, or what sport their children play. If you get a chance, drop me a quick email and tell me what team and/or sport you are passionate about. I would love to hear from you."

Send pictures of you and your department in team attire to Marketing and Outreach so they can add them to the gallery.
