Feb. 15, 2018 – The family-owned nautical themed microbrewery opened its doors Thursday, Feb. 15 during a soft opening and launched the brewery’s five flagship beers.

The Connolly family spent more than two years developing and planning, hoping to remain true to the vision they had for the brewery: to create and develop a distinct taproom that has the unique characteristics of the Hampton community.

Taproom manager, Adam Connolly, said that he and his family hope to create a “kind vibe” that is always welcoming and allows for patrons to relax and unwind. The location will welcome food trucks, offer live entertainment, board games, cards and shuffle board in their outdoor patio.

Brewmaster and Adam’s brother, Jonathan Connolly, has spent time resurrecting and recreating classic old-world beer recipes with an added modern twist. Flagship beers include cream ale, brown ale, IPA, red ale, and a porter. There will be a rotational dark beer offered a few weeks after opening.

Nautical history is in the name itself, capstan is a very early nautical term for a rotating machine that was used by sailing ships to bring up the ship’s anchor.

The brewery is open Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3-9 p.m., Fridays noon-10 p.m., Saturdays 11 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sundays noon to 7 p.m. Hours are subject to change. For more information on the new location visit their website
