[ARCHIVED] Improvements to Ridgway Bark Park will cause temporary closures

dogpark

March 9, 2018 - Ridgway Bark Park is getting a facelift, with new sod to replace muddy areas created where grass has been worn. The park at 85 E. Mercury Blvd., a popular pet off-leash spot, will face some short-term closures during the work and to allow the grass time to take root.

Hampton’s Parks, Recreation and Leisure Department will minimize the closures and update the schedule based on the arrival of supplies. This notice will be updated as needed, or residents can call 311 (727-8311 from a cell) for updated closing information.

  • Friday, March 9: Closed for soil work.
  • Saturday, March 10: Reopens until sod arrives.
  • A two-week closure will be scheduled to begin in mid-March, likely March 14.
  • The park will re-open but have some areas corralled off for another month.

As a reminder, residents must register their dogs prior to visiting the park and pay a $10 membership fee per year. hampton.gov/parks
