[ARCHIVED] Hampton Heritage Day celebrates the cultures that helped shape the city

2018-hhd-nf

March 27, 2018 - Hampton Heritage Day, honoring the Native American, European and African cultures that formed the city, will be held Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. downtown on Queens Way between King and Wine streets. Heritage Day is celebrated in conjunction with the International Children's Festival.

The free festival focuses on the history that shaped who we are today. It also provides an opportunity to explore the legacy of what happened to each civilization throughout the 400-year cultural engagement here along the Chesapeake Bay.
Events include traditional music, dance, storytelling and other performances.  Various presentations will take place throughout the day. There will be hands-on family activities, cultural displays, demonstrations, food, traditional arts & crafts, and more to honor those who came before us and their legacy in our lives today.
