May 8, 2018 - Hampton Police will hold the 2018 Police Memorial and Honor Award Service ceremony on Monday, May 14 in Honor Park, which is between City Hall and the P.G. Minetti Public Safety Building on Lincoln Street. The ceremony pays tribute to Hampton police officers who died in the line of duty.

Starting at 10 a.m. Monday, Hampton Police Chief Terry Sult will preside over the ceremony and Mayor Donnie Tuck will issue a special proclamation from City Council. Family members of slain officers are expected to attend. If the weather is bad, the ceremony will be in the Fort Monroe Theater at 41 Tidball Road.

The memorial and awards ceremony is part of National Police Week, which was established by President Kennedy in 1962.
