[ARCHIVED] Hampton History Museum Presents ‘Super Heroes to the Rescue!’

The events, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., are free and open to the public.

Through fun activities and games, families will learn about Hampton’s experiences with fire and the brave First Responders that have been on constant call to protect people and property. Kids can explore a vintage 1930s Hampton fire engine alongside a modern fire engine, meet a Dalmatian “firedog” from Adopt-a-Spot Dalmatian Rescue, make a paper fire engine, practice fire safety activities, and do some firefighter fitness training exercises—including a hose race!

During the day there will be special tours of Hampton History Gallery highlighting the city’s battles with fire, including a recreation of burned-out Civil War ruins, a hand-operated fire engine purchased for the city in 1884, firefighter uniforms, equipment and other firefighting-related artifacts.
