[ARCHIVED] Public Works will spray for mosquitoes in Wythe and Southampton tonight

Sept. 18, 2018 - Weather permitting, Public Works will conduct ultra-low volume spraying for mosquitoes tonight in Wythe and Southampton.

Areas are chosen for truck-mounted mosquito spraying based on surveillance of the adult and juvenile mosquito population and other factors, including rainfall. Residents can call 311 (or 727-8311 from your cellphone) to arrange for an assessment of mosquitoes in their area. You can help combat Asian Tiger mosquitoes by dumping all standing water around your home. Also, protect yourself by using insect repellent and wearing light, loose and long-sleeve clothing.
