Oct. 10, 2018 - With Hurricane Michael expected to bring strong winds and rain to the area Thursday night, Hampton's Public Works Department said trash will be picked up as usual Thursday, but trash pickup Friday, Monday and Tuesday will be determined by Michael's impact on the area.

The National Weather Service said Michael will weaken to a tropical storm after landfall today in Florida, then turn northeast. It is expected to move across Hampton Roads Thursday night into early Friday, accompanied by winds and a band of heavy rain. Public Works said no trash should be put on the curb over the weekend.

Hampton's Emergency Management office will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates as needed.
