[ARCHIVED] Sprint triathlon event at Buckroe Beach on Saturday morning; will limit access to some areas

July 19, 2019 - Buckroe beach-goers and residents should be aware that a sprint triathlon race at Buckroe Beach will limit access to some areas of the park, beach and surrounding streets on Saturday morning.

The race, which begins at 7 a.m., includes a run along the boardwalk and First Street; a bicycle course along Mallory Street; and a swim course in the bay area off the observation pier. Organizers have also rented much of the park, from the lighthouse to and including the stage pavilion.

Roads will be closed periodically during the event, but officers will let drivers through when possible.

The event is expected to conclude around noon.

The Buckroe Beach Farmers Market will not be held this week.
