The Hampton Clean City Commission will have two openings on the board in January. Would you like to be part of the HCCC board? You have to be a Hampton resident and able to attend the board meetings, which are held monthly on the second Tuesday at 3:30pm.

HCCC board members promote public interest in the general improvement of the environment of the City; initiate, plan, direct, and coordinate programs for litter control and cleanliness in conjunction with and in cooperation with citizens, government, businesses, and industries within the City limits on a sustainable basis; implement and maintain a clean city program; study, investigate, and develop plans for improving the health, sanitation, safety, and cleanliness of the City by promoting beauty of the streets, highways, vacant lots, yards, waterways, and other similar places; encourage placing, planting, and/or preserving trees, flowers, shrubs, and other objects or ornamentation in the City; advise and recommend plans to City departments for beautification of the City; set policies for the Commission consistent with City Council leadership; oversee Commission programs and projects; establish and serve as liaisons to Standing and Ad Hoc Committees; and otherwise promote public interest and education to generally improve the City environment.

In other words HCCC board members are among the hardest working board members in the city! If you would like to be considered for the board by City Council, fill out a board bank application at https://hampton.gov/1756/Apply-for-a-Board-or-Commission. If you already have an application on file, you can update it to include HCCC as one of the boards you're interested in.
