[ARCHIVED] Healthy Families staff meet with legislator, Va. first lady on Advocacy Day

Feb. 14, 2020 — Healthy Families staff members spoke to a legislator and the state’s first lady on Home Visiting Advocacy Day on Jan. 22 in Richmond.

Advocacy Day is an opportunity to meet with Virginia lawmakers on a particular topic.

Staff members Rachelle Vo, Kylene Barney and Shevon Spence met with elected officials to share information about our Hampton home visiting programs and promote the importance of prevention services. They met with Del. Jeion A. Ward and first lady Pamela Northam. Ward said her grandchild was a Healthy Start participant, and the delegate praised our services.
