[ARCHIVED] Work continues on Route 134 bridge replacement over Brick Kiln Creek in Hampton

traffic-nf

Feb. 26, 2020 - After rush hour Thursday morning, the Virginia Department of Transportation is expected to start a new traffic pattern on Route 134 as work continues on replacing the northbound bridge over Brick Kiln Creek.

Weather permitting, there will be a single lane of traffic traveling in each direction on the southbound bridge. Northbound traffic moving from Hampton towards York County will use a new temporary crossover lane directing traffic across the median onto the southbound bridge. A long-term closure to through traffic will be in place on Old Armistead Avenue at the Magruder Boulevard intersection, but access will be maintained for local businesses and residences.

The new northbound bridge will include two 12-foot travel lanes, a 10-foot right shoulder, and a 6-foot left shoulder. Go online for more information on the Route 134 Bridge Replacement Project.
