[ARCHIVED] Ruppert Sargent building, History Museum without power and closed to the public

news

Aug. 5, 2020 - The Ruppert Sargent building downtown is without power and will be closed to the public until power is restored. The Hampton History Museum is also without power and will be closed today.

The Ruppert Sargent building houses the Treasurer’s office and the Commissioner of the Revenue’s office, which handle taxes as well as some DMV operations. Also in the building are the Assessor’s and the Economic Development departments for the city and schools headquarters.

The Treasurer and Commission of the Revenue staff should report to work at noon today. Many other city employees in the building will continue teleworking but should check with their supervisor for specific instructions.
