[ARCHIVED] Hampton under flash flood warning until 11 a.m.; more rain expected

Nov. 12, 2020 - More than 2 inches of rain have fallen since midnight, and the rain isn't done yet. According to the National Weather Service,  Hampton could see another 1 to 2 inches in the next hour or two.

The city, as well as much of the region, is under a a flash flood warning, meaning that flooding is imminent or occurring. That warning lasts until 11 a.m.

Most flood deaths occur in vehicles, according to the weather service, and drivers are reminded to turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. 

Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.
