Feb. 18, 2021 - The City of Hampton went online Thursday to recognize dozens of city employees who have reached milestones of 20, 30 and even 45 years of service to the community.

Employees normally gather each year for a special 1610 luncheon, named for the year Hampton was founded. This year, the 1610 Virtual Service Awards Presentation included videotaped interviews with some of the employees, comments from Mayor Donnie Tuck and City Manager Mary Bunting, and the reading of the names of all the employees honored.

“As we all know, these are not normal times,” said Tuck, who represented City Council. Instead, the online presentation included comments from Tuck and Bunting, who said the employees being honored “really have put their heart and soul into our organization.”

The presentation ended with the mayor and city manager reading the names and years of service for the employees being honored. You can go online to see the full presentation.

And don’t forget to congratulation your coworkers!
